What Is LC Phone in GoHighLevel?
Short answer
LC Phone, short for LeadConnector Phone, is HighLevel’s own phone service. It runs calls and texts inside the CRM without a Twilio account, and it is HighLevel’s default option. A US local number costs $1.15 a month.
Checked against HighLevel’s help center on . HighLevel updates its interface often, so match the labels you see on screen.
| Topic | LC Phone | Your own Twilio |
|---|---|---|
| Setup | Works once you turn it on, with no keys to paste | Create and configure a Twilio account first |
| Buying numbers | In the sub-account, under Settings, then Phone System | In the Twilio sub-account linked to the location |
| Status | Default and recommended | Still supported |
LC Phone rates match Twilio’s, with 10% off US and Canada numbers, texts, and calls. A local number is $1.15 a month and a toll-free number is $2.15 a month, and texts and minutes come out of your wallet as you use them.
Buy a number
- 1In the sub-account, click Settings, then Phone System
- 2On the Phone numbers tab, click + Add Number, then Add Phone Number
- 3Pick a country, then filter by digits, voice, SMS, MMS, or local and toll-free
- 4Select a number, check its monthly price, and click Proceed to Buy
- 5Complete any identity, address, or Regulatory Bundle prompt, then confirm
The first US, Canada, or Puerto Rico number a sub-account buys needs a Persona identity check. Before a US local number can text, it needs A2P 10DLC registration, and a toll-free number needs Toll-Free Verification.
Port a number you already own
HighLevel ports in US numbers through an in-app port-in flow, which agency owners and admins can use once it is turned on in Labs, or through a manual porting form. For an international number, HighLevel support files Twilio’s international porting form for you. For a US number, have these ready:
- A signed Letter of Authorization
- A carrier bill from the last 90 days that shows the number, owner, and carrier
- The account number and PIN for any wireless number
- A name and service address that match your carrier’s records exactly, with no PO Box
A port takes 2 to 4 weeks for fewer than 50 numbers and 6 to 8 weeks for bigger ones. Text history stays with the old provider, so export what you need and keep the old carrier active until calls and texts work in HighLevel.
